Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Organic Cane Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cacao Nibs (8%), and Whisky (6%).
Appearance: beautiful stylized mold embossed with flowers and leaves; color is a plain medium brown and the nibs are lightly visible in the chocolate.
Aroma: oaky sweetness with very strong whisky overtones; no immediate cocoa is there.
Melt & Snap: great melt & good snap.
Flavor: immediate booze becomes sweet and melts into a chewy version of those alcohol-filled chocolates you buy in duty free. It’s hard to find the cocoa flavor in it.
Complaints & Complements: this might be a great bar for a whisky lover, but I’m only a casual drinker. It was simply overpowering for me, and I felt like I couldn’t even taste any cocoa.
Context: sitting in my Korean apartment, excited about the large shipment of chocolate I just received from Scotland.
