Bar: San Francisco de Macoris 70%
Maker: Dandelion Chocolate (San Francisco, California, USA)
Price: $10/56g (Lolli & Pop’s)
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Munch Factor: 6/10
Ingredients: Cacao, Cane Sugar
Appearance: nondescript 18-block mold with little squiggles on it; medium brown color with nice temper.
Smell: sweet molasses and floral wood, like bamboo; it’s very pleasant and rustic but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
The Melt & Snap: okay melt & good snap.
Taste: a bit bitter, then sweet, and some complex florality comes in before a slightly dry finish with lot of cocoa.
Complaints & Complements: it’s a very tame and appealing dark, obviously well-done, though in a hard-to-describe way.
Context: Sitting in my climate-controlled home in the US.
