Bar: Norandino (70%)
Maker: French Broad Chocolate Lounge (North Carolina, USA)
Price: $9/60g (Direct From Maker)
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Munch Factor: 3/10
Ingredients: Organic Cacao, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Cacao Butter
Appearance: Very dark brown color & 24-block mold with the brand’s logo on each rectangle; nicely tempered.
Smell: Grass, overwhelming pineapple, and some cocoa; maybe apple at the end.
The Melt & Snap: fine melt & good snap.
Taste: Sleek woodiness, red fruits, bitterness which is hard to get over; slightly dry finish with olive-like muted fruitiness which really sticks with you.
Complaints & Complements: It’s good, and rather sweet even though I didn’t mention that in the taste section; it has this flavor at the beginning which I have always described as woody, but which I will one day find a better adjective for. It’s well-made, it just has this weird quality beyond the tannins that makes it taste a bit off..
Context: Sitting in my climate-controlled house in the U.S.
