Ingredients: Organic cocoa beans, Organic sugar, Organic cocoa butter, Pepper (2%), Soy Lecithin (0.1%)
Appearance: stylized “Å” right in the center of the square; well tempered with a beautiful medium brown color.
Aroma: lots of cocoa and fudge with an almost sesame… or tree bark? undertone.
Melt & Snap: good melt & beautiful snap.
Flavor: sweet chocolate developed light peppering and a pleasant fatty melt surrounding the light crunch of the ground pepper. No bitterness or tannins to speak of or complain about; it’s quite sweet, actually.
Complaints & Complements: the pepper doesn’t come in until the finish, so you have to stop yourself from reaching for another bite in order to experience it. But even then, it’s light but distinct, and complements the bar’s sweetness quite well. So it’s well done, as Akesson’s bars always are.
