Bar: 70% Dark
Maker: Azzan Chocolate (Buon Me Thuot, Vietnam)
Price: $6/60g (Gift From Friend)
Munch Factor: 4/10
Ingredients: cacao beans, sugar.

Appearance: beautiful white paper covered in animal, cacao, and human motifs, the bar is held together by a bright red paper with the brand name & logo printed in gold. Bar is dark brown with the halved cacao pod logo molded deep into the center & lines criss-crossing outside the logo.
Aroma: deep cocoa & bright red fruits.
Melt & Snap: good melt & hard snap.
Flavor: smooth red fruits and an undercurrent of dusty cocoa, nicely evening out near the end. No bitterness or tannin, and not much flavor development. Short finish.
Complaints & Complements: the packaging of this bar is beautiful, and was designed by the maker & owner himself in an effort to reflect the images of the ethnic minority from which he sources some of his cacao. The inner wrapping actually reminds me of the textured gold wrapper of a pat of butter, keeping the thick bar’s aroma in.
Context: in my office before a late lunch.
