Bar: Sierra Nevada 64% (Colombia)
Maker: Cacao Hunters (Popayán, Colombia)
Price: $3.49/28g (Caputo’s)
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Munch Factor: 7/10
Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Sugar, Cocoa Butter.
Appearance: light-medium brown thin square with the stylized brand name printed on top. Packaging is small and holds in aroma well; the bright pink color is distinct.
Aroma: soft dried red fruits, raisins, and sweet vanilla.
Melt & Snap: hard melt & very strong snap.
Flavor: sweet fruitiness, cooked jam and more honey sweetness with some vanilla and no cacao. Finish is short and sweet, and reminds me of the raisin I smelled initially.
Complaints & Complements: this is a very enjoyable bar. I will buy this again in larger form, and was glad to note that they won an award for it last year. The cacao is sourced from & the chocolate made in Colombia, and I love to see that value-added chocolate is increasing in awareness and market share.
Context: in my cold classroom in Korea.
