Ingredients: Organic Cocoa Beans, Raw Cane Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Icelandic Milk Powder, and Sunflower Lecithin (E322).
Appearance: the large white box holding 2 thin rectangular bars is separated only by a sheet of tissue paper. The bars are a dark brown, almost black color with the brand name at the bottom.
Aroma: deep, dusty cocoa with brownie-like qualities and raisin undertones.
Melt & Snap: good melt & great snap.
Flavor: smooth brownie with bittersweet undertones and no tannin. The finish is long and loses its sweetness over time. It’s a people-pleaser for those on the dark side.
Complaints & Complements: I seem to be seeing this maker everywhere these days; though they’re based in Spain, they have distribution throughout Europe & North America & Japan. I’m not a huge fan of the design for the packaging, but the chocolate is pretty good— it’s hard to turn down Spanish chocolate.
Context: sitting in my apartment awhile after a meal and drinking lots of water. It’s warm here.
