Bar: Chuno 55% (Nicaragua)
Maker: Chocolarder Chocolate (Ponsanooth, England, UK)
Price: ~$6.50/65g (gift from a friend)
Munch Factor: 7.5/10
Ingredients: Cocoa Beans, Unrefined Raw Sugar, Whole Milk Powder.
Appearance: beautiful packaging with the logo along the top & different colors for each different origin. It’s very attractive and classy, while the mold of the chocolate echoes the elegant outside, with a 16th-century cacao pod sketch. The bar itself is a medium brown color with a nice temper.
Aroma: sweet and creamy with earthy undertones. Caramel-like.
Melt & Snap: beautiful melt & good snap.
Flavor: earthy and almost a salty mouthfeel, then sweetness and an underlying bitterness impede the caramel sweet flavor. Finish is short and sweet, while the flavor is pleasant and uncomplex.
Complaints & Complements: this bar is delicious, and given the price, I’d definitely buy it again & give another one as a gift. It’s simple, but delicious; I can’t wait to get my hands on the whole collection, and visit his factory.
Context: sitting outside in the spring sun, semi-surrounded by 1st graders.
