*Maraná Cusco 80%

Sharing is caring!

Bar: Cusco 80%
Maker: Maraná Chocolate (Lima, Peru)
Price: $6.50/70g (La Esquina Verde Mercado)
Overall Rating:
 7/10
Munch Factor:
 5/10
Ingredients:
Cacao Mass, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin

Appearance: Pre-broken 15-block mold with the brand’s stylized M on each square; shiny dark brown color.
Aroma: Sweet & nutty in a smooth way.
Melt & Snap: beautiful melt & nice snap.
Flavor: Intense nuttiness, then creamy and slightly bitter cocoa combine for a fatty but pleasant finish, unexpected for such a high cacao percentage.
Complaints & Complements: Very pretty & functionable packaging. I still don’t like the use of soy lecithin and think it takes away from the integrity of the cacao, but I am also vehemently anti-soy in general, adding to my dislike of its lecithin form.
