Bar: Nacional Puro with Macadamia (77%)
Maker: Mindo Chocolate (Mindo, Ecuador)
Price: $5/50g (Direct From Retailer)
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
Munch Factor: 4/10
Ingredients: Cocoa Beans, Cane Sugar, Macadamia Nuts
Appearance: Dark brown with a lovely mold, assumedly reserved for their 50g bars; white clumps of macadamia fleck the surface.
Aroma: Woody cocoa with sweet nutty undertones and a sensual silkiness.
Melt & Snap: Beautiful melt & a strong snap, likely aided by the bits of macadamia.
Flavor: Strong earthiness and a bit of bitterness and tannin make your mouth water before falling into a chewy chocolatey nuttiness, ripe with tannin on the finish.
Complaints & Complements: The outer packaging is beautiful and distinct, and the inner plastic is only helpful in that it keeps the flavors in and is very easy to open.
