Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Cane Sugar, Bread Crumbs (Wheat & Rye Flour, Natural Sourdough Starter, Sea Salt), Organic Cocoa Butter, Milk Powder & Sea Salt.
Appearance: Though it was badly broken in transport, the texture is visible, and the color is a dull, reddish brown.
Aroma: Earthy whole wheat bread & salinity, but sweetness, too.
Melt & Snap: beautiful melt & strong snap (I’m sure the bread helps!).
Flavor: Crunch is the first thing you notice, then the salt, and finally a melty sweetness which gives way to the savoury and crazy-interesting flavor of the bread.
Complaints & Complements: This is absolutely an amazing bar, and next time I’m in London I’ll make the trip south to Suffolk to check out their shop. I love the packaging, too, and the only reason this doesn’t get a 10 is due to the chocolate itself being great insofar as I can separate it from the bread, but not amazing; the addition of the bread is what turns this bar into a masterpiece.
