Bar: Manabí 75%
Maker: República Del Cacao (Quito, Ecuador)
Price: $6/100g (Quito Tourism Office)
Overall Rating: 4.5/10
Munch Factor: 2/10
Ingredients: Cacao Liquor, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin (E322)
Appearance: 8-block pre-broken mold with the brand & country-of-origin printed on top; very dark brown color.
Aroma: Subtle fruitiness with woody cocoa overtones.
Melt & Snap: hard melt & hard snap.
Flavor: Muskiness and the wood, then bright sweet fudge for just a moment before some bitterness and astringency sets in. Some spice keys in near the end, but is quickly overpowered by tannins.
Complaints & Complements: Somewhat disappointing bar, especially after trying their delicious El Oro origin. Would not recommend.
