Bar: Mexico 75% (Soconusco)
Maker: Ritual Chocolate (Park City, UT, U.S.A.)
Price: $12/60g (Caputo’s Online Market)
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Munch Factor: 6/10
Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Cocoa Butter.
Appearance: medium brown color with Ritual’s stylized name & lined design ethched into the thin mold. Good temper.
Aroma: sweet cocoa with floral citrus vibes.
Melt & Snap: okay melt & strong snap.
Flavor: light citrus before light cocoa sets in and the melting speeds up. Floral notes and a hint of bitterness comes out at the end, with earthy undertones throughout. Finish is moderate and cocoa-heavy, with lasting florality.
Complaints & Complements: the overall tone of the bar is sweet natural cocoa, but the citrus and floral flowers just kept drawing me in for another taste. I was more impressed with this bar than expected, and I love the diversity of flavors.
Context: sitting in my heated office on a break from work.
