Bar: Haiti 70% (PISA, North Haiti)
Maker: The Smooth Chocolator (Geelong, Australia)
Price: $13/60g (Caputo’s)
Overall Rating: 8/10
Munch Factor: 6/10
Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Sugar, Cocoa Butter.
Appearance: a large, thin bar, rather dark brown, with cacao pods & leaves etched into the surface. It’s packaged into a massive but flat black resealable pouch, which is useful but cumbersome.
Aroma: bitter and fruity, with honey undertones.
Melt & Snap: okay melt & good snap.
Flavor: sweet fruitiness which grows in intensity and a continued melt that almost tastes creamy. Moderate, sweet finish with no bitterness or astringency.
Complaints & Complements: the texture is almost a little clumpy, but the flavor is beautiful and smooth. If this is one of that bars that didn’t get an award, I seriously look forward to trying the ones they did.
Context: sitting in my apartment in Korea.
