Bar: Belize 75%
Maker: Videri (Raleigh, North Carolina, USA)
Price: $9.99/85g (Direct From Maker)
Overall Rating: 9/10
Munch Factor: 6/10
Ingredients: Organic Cacao and Organic Cane Sugar
Appearance: Both bars sport a thin stylized mold with the maker’s signature V in the center and a few blocks on either side; color is an unremarkable brown.
Aroma: Rich salinity and sweet floral notes paired with clear tones of crystallized orange peel. It smells truly scrumptious!
Melt & Snap: beautiful melt & good snap.
Flavor: Florality enters stage left and clasps hands with a smooth bitterness, which quickly fades away only to be replaced by the citrus oil which is even clearer when tasting than when smelling. Short finish is sweet cocoa.
Complaints & Complements: Coming with two smaller bars wrapped in foil, packaged in a box, Videri maintains its status as most efficient packaging in my mind. Additionally, this bar in particular has made me re-think how I see them as a maker.
