Appearance: What hits you first with a chocolate bar? Well the Appearance, of course! The bar is light-colored for being 90%, and the packaging is very pretty, but not at all resealable— huge drawback for tiny tasters unlike myself. Personally, I’ll much on one bar all day and be happy, until I realize I just ate my entire chocolate bar.
Smell: a deep, dark cocoa scent with a hint of bitterness. Quite a penetrating aroma, actually, which fades into a sweet buttery nuttiness.
Melt & Snap: not a very giving melt, but a damn good snap, strong like a lumberjack, but with better-dressed.
Flavor: starts off nutty, and then becomes a bit sweet before fading into a slight bitter acidity. It’s got a moderate chocolate flavour and is easy to much on, but it’s not necessarily special. Overall, appealing but not amazing.
Complaints & Complements: the 100 gram size has always been a bit too hefty for my taste, so that’s not my favourite part, but I appreciate the choice of a pre-broken mold. I enjoyed pairing it with cacao nibs to enhance the sweetness.
