Bar: Coco & Coco 65%
Maker: Chocolate Concierge (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Price: $–/80g (Gift From Friend)
Munch Factor: 6/10
Ingredients: cacao (Venezuela), sugar, cocoa butter, coconut flake, soy lecithin, vanilla (Madagascar)
Appearance: a large square package, white with black geometric & sweeping patterns; the package is sealed by a single colored sticker denoting brand, bar, and weight. It’s a very pleasing bar, simple but eye-catching. Once opened, you’ll find a plastic-sealed square bar with “CHOCOLATE” printed down two sides. The coconut isn’t visible.
Aroma: sweet cocoa & toasted coconut.
Melt & Snap: soft melt & good snap.
Flavor: sweet cocoa hits first and never really leaves, yet as you continue to chew the bar, the coconut seems to ease into the forefront and become a mass of its own as the chocolate melts away. It’s very sweet; finish is short and coconutty.
Complaints & Complements: this is a nice eating chocolate. It’s quite sweet and easy to get lost in; it reminds me of those coconut clusters I used to steal from my mom’s sweet stash as a kid. This is not my favorite bar from Chocolate Concierge, but it’s a good way to get some of the antioxidants of a dark chocolate with some coconut milk chocolate flavor.
Context: in my office before lunch.
